Last November I took part in a lecture given by a native Scotsman. He explained some words used chiefly by Scottish people. Here's a list of the words I got acquainted with. Should you know any other typical Scottish words do share.

breeks - trousers
bampot - crazy
bauchle - short fat person
blether - to talk or a person who talks a lot
chuffed - happy
crabbit - grumpy
fankle - confusion
glaikeit - unenthusiastic
wabbit - sick
bonny- beautiful
numpty- silly

And more common:

wee- small
aye- yes
pinkie - small finger
lassie - girl
