Domyślnie [POL>ENG] Wiesława Szymborska – Chmury

Drugie tłumaczenie z cyklu "znalezionych na poznańskich muralach". Znowu przeważnie mi chodzi o muzykę, prozodię.

Were I to write clouds
I should have to hurry -
in a split second, they're
no longer what they were, but something else.

They have the property
of never repeating
their shape or shading, pose or composition.

The memory of things does not encumber them,
they soar effortlessly over the facts.

What witness could they bear to anything?
They disperse every which way in an instant.

Compared to the clouds
life seems so grounded,
nearly solid, almost everlasting.
